May Hip 2B Square Hip Kit Sketch Challenge layout and card.

 SKETCH - LAYOUT

This months sketch was by October Afternoon.  I really liked this sketch.  It is always fun to work off of sketches, it takes a lot of thinking out of making a layout.  I decided that instead of using three little pictures to use one large pic.  Since I had two similar sized pics of each kiddo (4x7 1/2), I made a layout for both.  Each month, the kits that Kimberly puts together have such a range of colors and textures.  With this one kit, I was able to make a masculine and feminine layout that are the same but completely different.  I love that the kits are so versatile.

BEAUTY BLOOMS FROM WITHIN

This is the femine version.  I used the flower die cuts and the floral patterned papers.  I splatted some Mister Huey mist and backed the banners in white card stock.

GROWING UP TOO FAST

This is the masculine version.  I used the chevron and bright colored patterned papers.  I backed the banners with the charcoal paper.  I was fortunate that the die cut stickers from Dear Lizzy had a whole bunch of 7's, they fit perfectly for this layout as my son is 7 right now.

SKETCH - CARD

My card isn't exactly like the sketch, (not even close), but a sketch is there for inspiration and sometimes the inspiration and the finished projects aren't the same.  When I had first envisioned it, the hexagons would overlap each other some popped up and some not, however when I was done, it was very linear.  I think it turned out really cute.  Don't be afraid to use a sketch, you may never know which direction it will go.
