I just realized I hadn't posted the remaining layouts and cards that I made with the March Hip Kit. This just tells me how I really need to become a better blogger. This was such a fun kit. Loads of springy colors.
My Easter Bunnies
I took this picture of my kiddos in their Easter clothes. Cameron always gets the short end of the Easter clothes tradition. We pick out Sami's dress and match a polo shirt for Cam. I do however think he looks great in this color blue. The October Afternoon floral paper fit my picture perfectly. It had the same colors as the dots in Sami's dress.
I double layered the background of the "You put the Hip in my Hop" die cut sticker to help it pop off the page more and I also used pop dots.
Warning: If the Princess Ain't Happy, Ain't Nobody Happy!
I have had this picture of Sami quite some time. I like to match my photos to my papers when I scrap. So, I was waiting for the just right paper to come my way so I to scrap this photo. The March Kit had exactly what I was looking for!
I used a lot of layers and added a lot of stitching on this one. Straight lines, zig zags and crazy messy stitching, I just love the way machine stitching completes my page
The really nice thing about our Hip Kits, is that Kimberly does such a great job combining products from different manufacturers – and they ALL COORDINATE perfectly! Another great thing is that often times you will find that products from previous kits will work well with a newer one. On this layout, I used some random brads that I had left over from one or more of our previous Hip Kits. (I can't tell you which one because after I'm done with a kit, I put all of my brads into one container.) :D
I made a cute little flowers out of punched out circles. We have a great TUTORIAL TUESDAY that will show you exactly how to make these little flowers. Make sure to check it out because you will be amazed at how easy it is
I also used some Washi tape that was from our July 2011 Embellishment Add-On Kit. I love that matched these products in our March Hip Kit perfectly
Masculine Thanks Card
I wanted to try to make a masculine card and the American Craft Jared Stamps in the Add On Kit were perfect for that. Using just craft paper, a couple of scraps left over, the Studio Calico Scraps tissue paper and the stamps, I think I created something that is definitely masculine. I used a vellum adhesive to adhere the tissue paper.
Happy Easter Card
This is such a fun kit with wonderful spring colors. When I saw the little cloud sticker on the October Afternoon Little Flyers, I knew it would be perfect for a card. What do you need when you already have the sky? Ground! I used my grass border punch and my fence punch for that. I found an egg clipart on line and printed it out and then used it as a template for my eggs.
For my little banner, I ran it through my sewing machine. I first sewed a few times before putting in my first little banner, then I added a few stitches in between banners to get some spacing. I used pop dots to adhere them to the card.
thanks for sharing. loved seeing your work. :)
