Twisted Pigs

Sami just loves it when I put braids in her hair.  She calls them Twisted Pigs.  Right now I am obsessed with everything Simple Stories.  I really love the divided album page you can make with their lines.  This layout is pretty much all Simple Stories Fabulous line.

A couple of Christmas Layouts

Sometimes I like to scraplift some amazing layouts that I have found on Pinterest.  It makes for a quick and fast layout.  I have been trying to play catch up on some of my Christmas layouts.  These pics were from when Sami was a baby (6 mos.) and Cameron was 4.

THE BEST GIFTS EVER!

This one was based off this layout posted on the Pebbles blog.  Instead of using strips of paper, I used washi tape.  I love the mix of teal, black and red.

Happy New Year!  It's been awhile since I've posted.  It's also been awhile since I've scrapped.  I took a little time off for the holidays.

A group of friends and I are now scrapping once a month at our local library and it got my creative juices flowing again.  Even though I'm not on the Hip 2B Square design team anymore, I bought myself the November kit as I needed some Christmas paper.  I also went shopping while I was in Idaho over the holidays and picked up some other Christmas lines to work on my Christmas album.

These are my newest layouts.  I have accumulated quite a stash over the last few years, so I am going back into my leftovers and trying to use them.  So some of the embellishments are old.  Enjoy.

JUST WHAT I WANTED....

Isn't this just the cutest picture of Sami.  It was on our Christmas gift that they made in preschool this year.  When I first saw the Jillibean Soup pink and red wood grain patterned paper, I wasn't sure I would ever use it.  But then I noticed the wood paneling behind Sami and she was wearing pink and it was PERFECT from my background.  I splatted some white and silver mist and then dabbed some Silver Stickles pearls.

ONE OF THESE IS NOT LIKE THE OTHER

Every year my family makes fun of my stocking.  My sister made them all for us.  The really sad thing is that she made my hubby a nicer one than she made me.  I think it should tell me something about how much my sister loves me.  (It doesn't even face the right way, oh well.)  Well my niece sent me a text a couple weeks before Christmas to make fun of me, so I used that text message as my journaling.

CHRISTMAS CUTIES

Every Christmas I take a pic of the kiddos in front of the tree.  The JOY, and felt flowers are from Hip Kits that are several years old.

CREEPY SANTA

Our church was trying to raise money to go to a mission team going to Honduras this spring to build a house for a very deserving family.  Creepy Santa would get left on your step to help raise money for the trip.  He ended up on our step after we got home from Idaho for the holidays.  The kids loved having Creepy Santa, I just thought, well he was creepy.

Remaining October Hip 2B Square Layouts and Cards

These are my last projects for Hip 2 B Square.  I have been honored to be a part of the Design Team here at Hip 2B Square.   I want to thank Kimberly for the opportunity to design for her the last three years.  It was a blast and I have grown so much as a designer.  Thanks for all your nice comments over the past couple of years.  I hope that I have created layouts that inspire you to start scrapping.

I absolutely love the plaid patterned paper from October Afternoon.  I pulled the colors for the rest of the layout from that plaid paper.  I added several layers of patterned papers and die cuts.  The BOO! from the Witch Hazel chipboard stickers became the first letters of my title.

This layout is my companion piece to the above one.  I like to use the same format every year for each of my kids Halloween layouts but use different papers and embellishments.  This kit had so many cute Halloween embellishments that there were a lot to go around.

All three of my cards are super simple.  The leaves in the one above are from a die cut that I have on hand.  The die cut sticker said Pumpkin Patch, so I used my craft knife and cut out the middle.  I then backed it with some of the orange cardstock and add the Witch Hazel alpha stickers.

Another simple card, two patterned papers, some ribbon a brad and a couple of little banners.

On this one,  I used a couple of patterned papers and backed the Witch Hazel Halloween card with some orange cardstock and then ran it through my sewing machine.  I also added some rub on letters for the "Happy"

Once again, thanks to Kimberly for having me on the Design Team and thanks to all of you for your support.  I am going to continue to scrap and create and may even try my hand at trying out for some other design teams in the future.  Right now I am going to enjoy just scrapping for myself.  Happy Scrapping!

Another October Hip 2B Square Kit Layout

This is such a fun kit for your halloween pictures from this year.  The October Afternoon Witch Hazel line is full of fun colors.  I love the teal and orange with black/grey combination.  Sami has been a princess for two years and for the second year in a row, Cameron is in black.  Last year as Darth and this year as a Ninja.  I love that my kiddos love halloween as much as I do.

I inked all my edges with a black ink to make them pop off the page and one another.  I also splatted some of the October Afternoon Midnight Sprinklers.  I love how just a few splats can change the look of a layout.

Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Scrapping!

October Hip2B Square Layout

Here is my first layout made with the October Hip 2B Square Kit.  I just love all of the colors and Halloween embellishments in this kit.

Halloween is my favorite holiday.  I go all out with Halloween decorations in my yard.  Because of my obsession, I have passed it on to my children as well.  They are not afraid of anything.  I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not as my daughter showed me this year.  I walked outside on afternoon and I found her hugging and kissing on the skeletons.  When I told her that she needed to come in for dinner, she told me that "I don't want to leave my boyfriends"  I think I have created a monster! Of course, being the scrapping momma I am, I had to get pictures.

I absolutely love the October Afternoon Witch Hazel alphabet stickers.  I needed the orange stickers to stand out from the teal polka dot patterned paper from Simple Stories.  When I just put the orange sticker directly on the paper it blended in to much.  I took some of the black cardstock and fussy cut out each letter.

I cut out a black circle the same size of the chipboard moon to layer behind it to give it more of a shadow.  I also splatted some of the October Afternoon Sprinkler included in the Add-On Kit.

The rhinestones on the eyes of the skeleton were from the July Hip Kit.  I felt since this was a girly page, the skeleton needed some bling.

Thanks for stopping by today.  We sure do love having you come take a look at what we have designed with the Hip Kits.  I hope you have found some inspiration to get out your Halloween pics and get scrapping.

September Hip 2B Square Layout (Scraplift from Melanie Jarocki)

My fellow Hip 2B Square Design Team member, Melanie Jarocki posted this school layout that she made with the September Hip Kit.  When I first got this kit, the number wood veneer numbers from Studio Calico had me itching to do a school layout but I could never come up with an idea that I liked, so I shelved that idea until I saw Melanie's layout.

Melanie Jarocki's September Hip 2B Square Layout

I took her layout and scrap lifted it.  I also made it into a two pager.  Since I had already used most of my kit making my other layouts and cards, I went into my stash.  If you are like me and have been getting the Hip Kits for a couple of years, you have tons of EXTRA GOODIES, laying around.

Sami's skirt has polka dots, so I took that theme across the page with the black and white polka dot washi tape from an earlier kit. The circles with the red chevrons came from a holiday kit from either last year or the year before.  I think it matches perfectly with the red chevron washi tape that I had on hand. (not from a kit)

I have said many times before, Kimberly does such a great job putting her kits together, you can mix and match previous kits with current ones to create a layout.  (*I also went into my new October kit and used some of the washi tape in the add-on kit)

I hope this scrap lift of Melanie's layout gives you some inspiration to dig into your stash and start using it!

* A portion of this layout is made from using past Hip Kit papers and embellishments going back two years.
