Wow!

I just realized that I haven't visited my blog since January and it is now June.  I am just not a very good blogger.  I have a hard enough time just getting through a day without my children harming me or themselves.  That being said, I am going to try to keep up on this.

I have done a lot of things in the last 5 months.  You just wouldn't be able to tell it from my blog.

I will post my layouts from Dec-May shortly.

November Hip Kit Layouts

CHRISTMAS CUTIES

Get a couple of matching shirts and some cute kiddos and you get a cute layout.

DON'T HAVE TO LIKE IT

We went to our friends Jeff and Jackie for a Santa visit from the Snoqualmie Fire Station.  Sami didn't want to sit on his lap but she did with a protesting look.

SNOW DAY

We finally got some snow and were able to go out and throw some snowballs.

SANTA PIC

The kids Santa pic this year became a family santa picture because Sami would not sit on his lap.  This is taken at the club's Santa brunch.

CHRISTMAS SNAPSHOTS

Just some cute pics of the kids this Christmas.

Gone Missin'

Well I totally went missing over the Christmas holidays.  I didn't get much done or created or posted.  But now that the new year has started and I getting back into the groove of things.  I will be posting both the Nov and December layouts soon.

October Hip 2 B Square Layouts

What a fun kit.  I know I keep saying that, but it was fun.  I got 4 single page layouts and two double page layouts done with this kit and I have a couple more that I am trying to get done.

Kimberly does a wonderful job of putting these together.

YOU'VE GOTTA FRIEND IN ME!

Cameron wanted to go as Woody, so I picked out Sami to be Jessie.  It will probably be the last time I get them to match their costumes.  For a two year old, Sami is quite particular about what she wears.

WOODY

In this layout, I made some of those spiral paper flowers that are so popular right now.  My fellow designer Eva Montes did a tutorial on them recently. (Click Here).  Part of our designers challenge this month was to take one of the tutorials from our designers and use them.  It took me a couple of tries to get them to look like a flower.  I sprayed them with a spritz of water to help manipulate the paper better.  I must say that they don't look to bad for a first timer.

JESSIE

LIL PUNKIN

Sami was just a couple of months old for her first visit to the Pumpkin patch.  I set her on the pumpkins but the sun was so bright she wouldn't open her eyes.  It is still such a cute picture.  I stiched a LOT on this page and used Glossy Accents to make the dots pop.

FALL CITY FARMS

TACOMA GLASS MUSEUM

This layout was based on our challenge sketch by Melanie Jarocki.  I pretty much followed the sketch verbatim.  I did use my sewing machine to sew the journaling lines.  Which I must say is pretty clever of me.

Here is Melanie's sketch if you want to try it.  For some reason, the outside lines are not showing up.

October Hip Kit Preview

Here is the preview of the October Kit.  I forgot to post it earlier.  I can't wait to share my pages with you.

Retreat is Over!

I had such a fun filled weekend with good friends and got quite a few layouts done.  Not as much as last year, but still alot.  22 to be exact.  I had 2 more almost done and was able to get them done the next day while Sami was taking a nap.  Cameron sat next to me and worked on his own art project.

While at the retreat, I finished my layouts done with the October kit.  I will post them as soon as Kimberly posts them on her site first.  I really loved this kit.  I had tons of fall/Halloween pics to use.  Also, Melanie provided a really neat sketch for our challenge this month and I used some photos that I had from our visit to the Tacoma Glass Museum.

Here are a 16 of the 22 layouts that I got done at the retreat. (The others are from the October kit)   I am finding myself going to the sewing machine more often to add that finishing touch to my layouts.  Some of them are very simple as I was trying to challenge myself to use old product and just get some layouts done.

"ONE"DERFUL

I finally scrapped Sami's first birthday.  (Don't even get me started on Cameron.  I've only done his 1st and have 4 more to go and will soon add 5 since his birthday is in a month)

The next six layouts were done with SEI's Happy Day line and then I combined them with some DCWV Nana Kids paper that I've had forever and some DCWV Glitter paper.  The SEI Happy Day die cuts were to "die" for.  The were so cute and fun to layer with pop dots.  I also added lots of bling to these pages.  How could I not?

TESTING BOUNDARIES

This was a challenge I made for myself.  Go through all of the patterned paper that I have left over from the Hip 2 B Square kits over the last two years and put some of it to use.  No card stock allowed, just patterned paper.  I actually think it turned out really cute.

Countdown to Retreat

I am going to the fall retreat again this year.  I am super excited to spend three days scrapping all day long with good friends.  The only thing bringing me down about this right now is that I have no plan for what I am going to scrap.  I am so far behind the 8 ball on this one it is going to be a huge mess of paper and pictures with no rhyme or reason.  I have been trying to upload pictures all day to Costco and my computer crashed once and with the winds that we are having, CenturyTel went out once also.

I got the October kit last week and it is FABULOUS.  I can't wait to play with it.

If you are going to the retreat, I will see you there.
Good times ahead.
